The german russian house

The german-russian house Moscow (DRH) is a meeting place for the culture of the German minority in Russia, German and Russian culture. In offering a broad range of activities it aims to support the interests of the German minority and to contribute to a close friendship between Russia and Germany.
The DRH accommodates a number of Russian- German minority organisations. All of them are engaged in a variety of Russian-German projects to support the interests of the German minority in Russia and to highlight their current situation. Thus they establish ties between the German and the Russian culture.

The regular concerts, exhibitions, discussions and meetings are linked to the culture, traditions, history and present situation of the Russian-German minority. The German language courses aim to engage Russian citizens with the cultural, social and political values of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Many of the cultural and educational events offer insights into Russian culture, politics and history for German citizens, currently living and working in Russia.
The german-russian house (DRH) was founded in September 1997. Its work is supported by the German Federal Government as part of the Ministry of the Interior’s programme for national minorities. The programme itself is carried out by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. In the cultural and political sphere the DRH cooperates closely with the German Embassy in Moscow, the Goethe Institut Inter Nationes, the German Academic Exchange (DAAD), the ZfA, German foundations and Russian state organisations.
